Solution Engineer – Middle East and Africa
Location: Africa (Remote, with customer travel)
We’re looking for a dynamic Solution Engineer to drive growth across our Network Testing and Radio Engineering product lines in the CSP sector. This is a strategically important role, which requires someone with very strong technical skills, and the ability convey the benefits of our portfolio to our customers in the Middle East and Africa.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Using your technical expertise, as part of the sales team, to articulate the benefits Infovista’s Network Testing and Radio Engineering solutions in customer meetings, presentations, and bid responses
- Understand the customers business issues, and problems and find matching suitable Infovista solutions
- Answer technical parts of RFP and RFQs, and prepare BoQs and solution descriptions
- Assist the sales team with developing and executing sales strategies in the region
- Expand relationships with existing clients and identifying new opportunities
- Facilitate innovation in the products, by bringing ideas and new customer requirements to the Product Management team, and helping to prioritise and deliver them
- Be a trusted technical advisor to Infovista’s customers in the region
- Collaborate internally with teams in Professional Services and Support to ensure a seamless delivery to our customers
- Organise and deliver trials either remotely, or on-site with the customer, and ensure our customer experiences the benefits of Infovista’s solutions
- Customise our solutions, where appropriate, to ensure our customers derive maximum value from them
- Follow Infovista’s sales processes for accurately recording the progress of customer engagements
What you bring:
Solution Engineering Expertise
- 5+ years working in a solution engineering field in the telecoms market (or as a minimum, 5+ years in a customer-facing, technical field in telecoms)
- A university degree in engineering or a similar degree in a technical field
- Good knowledge of the mobile RAN and most importantly, how this impacts KPIs and mobile customer experience
- Insight into CSP ecosystems in Africa and/or the Middle East
- Experienced in managing customer engagements to successful completion
- Ability to qualify opportunities early and manage multiple deals in parallel
Communication
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the skill to communicate technically complex problems or solutions in an understandable way
- Fluent in English, and preferably fluent in French and/or Arabic
- Ability to present and engage with stakeholders at all levels of the customer organisation – from explaining technical details to engineers, to showing the business value to executives
- Collaborative mindset – to work closely with multiple internal teams to achieve objectives
- Attention to detail – deliver accurate work and ensure it is communicated in a clear way to ensure mutual understanding
Technical Expertise Knowledge
- Detailed knowledge of the KPIs and business issues of Infovista’s customers, and the ability to match Infovista’s solutions to their problems
- Deep understanding of mobile network testing, and preferably planning, customer use-cases
- Sufficient knowledge of 3GPP Layer 3 messaging, and IP traces to perform basic troubleshooting on drive test failures
- Ideally, a good understanding of cellular propagation modelling principles
- Scripting skills, preferably in Python
- Ability to convert customer reporting requirements into reality, by documenting and where possible, creating them
- Familiarity with Infovista’s TEMS and/or Planet tools is a strong plus
- Knowledge of competitive solutions in the market and how to differentiate Infovista’s solutions
Travel:
- Mostly remote based, but can travel up to 30% per year, across Africa and the Middle East. As such, proximity to an international airport is required
